Geelong Bus Trip 2019

What a fun and enjoyable day we had on Saturday 30th of November.40 swimmers ranging from Development Squad swimmers all the way up to Performance Squad headed away to Geelong to compete at the Geelong Open at a beautiful 10 lane 50m Pool. We headed off at 7:00am by bus, which was a fast and fun way to make our way to Geelong. We arrived an hour early and had the Seniors run a great dryland warm up then the swimmers headed into some fun and interesting team bonding games. The day started off with the 100 Free Handicap Races where in the boys Heat we had the only 2 swimmers Lenny W and Matt W where they actually swam too fast so neither of them won the trophy! In the morning we had a couple of stand out swims - Ollie W in the 50 Fly smashing his time by 6 seconds and placing first, Cian A in the 200 Free smashing his time by 12 seconds and Holly W in the 100 Breast smashing her time by 6 seconds! In the afternoon our stand, out swims were Ollie P in the 800 Free smashing his time by 41 Seconds, Georgina M in the 50 breast smashing her time by 6 Seconds, Oscar G in the 100 Fly smashing his time by 4 Seconds and placing 2nd, Tahni C in the 50 Free gaining a time of 32.03 which means she has gained her first State time and Holly W in the 200 Breast smashing her time by 9 Seconds! Jack and I were super impressed by every single child that competed on Saturday, for the senior swimmers showing leadership skills and helping out the junior swimmers and to all swimmers being at a swim meet by themselves. All the swimmers were proud to be wearing our flyers uniform! And big Congratulations to our 4 stand out swimmers of the day Ollie P, Ollie W, Holly W and Tahni C they all earnt themselves a spot prize! We would like to say a big thanks to Jacki M, Sam and Tim W for helping us on the bus and at the meet, Thanks to Prue also for bringing down the uniforms and thanks to all the parents that allowed us to take your kids to one of the best meets of the year!

Bring on Geelong 2020

Kind Regards

Rachel :)
