There are still a few Short Course fees outstanding from the winter season. These must be finalised promptly, or your child may not be able to continue training and competing for the remainder of the season.

If you have any questions, please contact Kylie Dingwall.

4. We need officials Urgently

We would like to ask members of Sale Swimming Club to please consider becoming an official.  To become an official, you need to complete the online component of the course (this is not hard) and then work with a qualified official to get signed off as competent.  Attached is the link to the course page.  Ideally Sale needs to get more officials trained.  The idea is that we have enough officials that we can run our own swim meet without officials from other clubs.  If you would like to talk about becoming an official, please talk to either Allison Ross or Nicky Anderson about this.

5. Optus Victorian Sprint Championships

The Optus Victorian Sprint Championships were held at MSAC on the weekend.  Sale Swim Club had 15 swimmers representing the club in 38 events with 15 pb’s achieved across the day.  The morning session involved our 13 years and under swimmers taking to the pool.  Georgia, Ben Hall, Grace Hobbs, Liam, Zac, Charlie Price and Arki.

Georgia, Grace, Charlie and Arki improved their sprint times, while the other swimmers, narrowly missed swimming close to their entry times.  Arki qualified 8th for the 50m Butterfly final which was swam the following day.

The afternoon session saw our 14 and over representatives take to the pool.  Shauna, Katie Kerby, Madison, Tamiecka, Hannah, Payge, Kiana and Poppy.  Like the morning session all swimmers swam a pb or narrowly missed their entry times.  Tamiecka qualified for the 50m back in 9th place with an impressive pb over 50 m.

Arki and Tamiecka returned to the pool on Sunday for the finals of the Sprint Championships.  Arki improved on his 50m fly time from Saturday finishing 7th in the State.  Tamiecka in her 50m backstroke narrowly missed her new pb set the previous day to finish 10th.

An awesome effort by all our swimmers at this Championship event.  Thank you to the coaches who have been coaching not only their own squads but other squads over the holiday period to achieve such wonderful results.  Looking forward to see what our swimmers achieve at Moe on the weekend and also at the upcoming country championships held at Warragul the long weekend.

6. Volunteers to help at Countries

The country championships are on from the 25-27th January in Warragul.  As GSI is the host of this meet this year all the clubs will be allocated roles to help with the smooth running of the meet.
