State Age Day 1

Day 1 of State Age Championships is done and dusted. With 27 swimmers competing in first night finals, relays or acting as 'emergencies', Surrey Park wrapped up Day 1 with a modest 9 medals (3 gold, 3 silver & 3 bronze) and 4th position on the Club points score.
As with most championships the day had highs and lows and the importance of maintaining a strong coach-athlete relationship is key to getting through the next 5 days.
A special congratulations to those Surrey Park swimmers competing as 'unattached' for this championship. We are all proud of your achievements in your new club colours.
Medal winners for day 1 were:
- Jemma Schlicht (Gold 14y 200IM, Gold 14y 100 Fly)
- Sebastian Cumins (Gold 15y 200 Back)
- Sian Whittaker (Silver 14y 200IM)
