The 2012 Swimming Victoria Awards Evening was held on 22nd July at ‘Lifeguards @ 200’ Function Centre which is part of the Lifesaving Victoria headquarters in Port Melbourne.
There were many awards presented over the evening, in particular, Surrey Park received 4 awards, which are as follows:
* Sam Sheppard received the ‘John Marshall Trophy’ for the swimmer who attained the highest aggregate points in freestyle events at the Victorian Open Long Course Championships.
* Alex Good received the ‘Doris Quinton Trophy’ for the swimmer who attained the highest aggregate points in the 12-13yr old age group at the Victorian Age Championships.
‘Super Coach’ Mike Sage received 2 awards:
* The Victorian Open Water Club Coach of the Year: which is awarded to the coach of the club which achieves the highest point score in the Age & Open, 5km & 10km events at the Victorian Open Water Championships
* The Victorian Open Water Coach of the Year: which is awarded to the coach of the swimmer achieving the highest finishing position in the Australian Open Water Championships.
