Congratulations to Sam Sheppard for his selection to the Australian contingent to compete at the Cozumel leg of the FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup. For those that might not be aware, Cozumel is an island, and popular tourist destination, in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula.
Sam's selection was based on his performance at the Australian Open Water Swimming Championships held earlier this year. Sam, our Club Captain, provides an excellent example to our younger swimmers that hard work, dedication and commitment to the training programme pays dividends.
Sam will again represent Australia in July when he competes at the World University games in Kazan, Russia.
We wish Sam the very best and safe travels as he takes on the world.
