Flyers Swim Confidently at National Age Champs

Day 3 to 6

Roman Nesto was our first swimmer into the pool. He competed in the 100m breaststroke. His first swim at a National competition. Well done Roman!

Harry competed in his second event of the meet the 50m freestyle and finished his National championships on day 4 with an excellent 100m Backstroke swim in a life time best 1:02!

Samantha continued with her busy schedule racing every day. On Day 3 she had the 400m IM followed by the 200m freestyle on day 4 the 100m Fly and 200m IM on day 5 and finishing with the 200m Back on day 6.

Samantha swam an impressive 2:25 in the 200m IM to reach the finals on Friday night and then swam another 2 seconds faster to finish in 8th place. A gutsy swim by the 16yr old!

Sarah Humphreys was again in the pool on day 5 competing in the 100m Backstroke. Again a great swim for this first timer taking the meet in her stride.

Well done to all of our Flyers representing us at Nationals. We are proud of you and hopefully you will all be back again next year with a few extra swimmers as we head to Adelaide for the 2016 National Age Champs!

Day 1 saw Adam Howgate (club captain), Sam Howe and Maddy Howe hit the water with flare racing in the morning heats. Sam Howe was the top performer of the day finishing in 13th place in the 16yr old girls 100m Freestyle.

Sam has a busy meet with 7 events at this competition which is run over 6 days at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC).

On Day 2 Adam and Sam were again in the water with Harry Waterfall, Sarah Humphreys (club vice captain) and Kurt Hendrickson joining in the fun.

All of them swam very well but the standout of the day was Sarah Humphreys reaching the finals in the 200m Backstroke and finishing 8th Australian in the night time finals.
