Eighteen Surrey Park swimmers were entered in the Vic Distance Competition held at MSAC on the weekend of 22-23 October. All who attended had some very solid swims that were good for this stage of the season. Special mentions were:
- Aidan Gleeson: solid in the 400IM and the 200 Back, plus a 20+ sec PB in his 1500 Free
- Eliza Harkin: with a 6 sec PB in her 200 Breast
- Will Johnson: with a 15 sec PB in his 400 Free
- Hamish Langford: really impressive with a 16 sec PB in 800 Free and a 14 sec PB in 400 Free plus a 7 sec PB in 200 Fly and a State QT
- Jonty Pote: I would have to say was the most impressive of everyone, 16 sec PB in the 200 Breast and 5 sec PB in the 400 Free
- Chantelle Underwood: had a pretty tough 200 Back, took it out hard and hung on pretty well for a 12 sec PB
As a team the swimmers were quite professional in the way they warmed up and took responsibility whilst I was busy watching the racing.
A pretty good weekend overall
