Coaches Report Nunawading and Vic Preparation Meets

The past two weekends have seen Surrey Park swimmers continue to compete in local meets, trying to achieve qualifying times and also attain valuable race practice for the upcoming Victorian Age Championships starting on the 10th December.

NUNAWADING MEET:

A very strong contingent of Surrey Park swimmers performed exceptionally well over the very long meet on Saturday 12th November, with a number posting some extremely fast times – many of which were new PBs.

Standout efforts came from the following swimmers:

  • Hamish Langford: 200 Free + 200 IM + 100 Fly
  • James Liu: 200 IM + 100 Fly
  • Jack O’Sullivan: 50 and 400 Free
  • Jerway Zhang:100 and 200 Breast
  • Nicholas Chang: 50 and 100 Breast
  • Morgan Morffew:100, 200and 400 Free
  • Flynn Phillips: 50, 100 and 200 Back + 400 Free
  • Tom Harkin:100 and 400 Free + 200 IM
  • Aidan Gleeson: 100 and 200 Back + 100 Free
  • Kahlia Marsh: 100 and 200 Breast + 100 Fly
  • Laura Davy: !00 Breast + 400 Free
  • Dani Smithson: 100 and 200 Breast + 200 Free

VICTORIAN PREPARATION MEET:

The weekend of 19th/20th November saw a smaller, but no less committed group, tackle one of the last meets before entries close for Victorian Age Championships in December.

Standout efforts came from the following swimmers:

  • Chany Underwood: 800 Free; a 30+ second PB
  • Alex Hillman: 50 and 100 Free
  • Hamish Langford: 50 and 400 Free; a big PB in the 400
  • Ciara Walsh: 200 Back + 400 Free
  • Lewis Clarke: 200 Back
  • Jasper Fodor: 100 and 200 Breast; both big PBs

Now the focus moves on to the upcoming Victorian Age Championships to be held at MSAC from the 10th to 16th December the Queensland State Championships to be held at Chandler, Brisbane from the 11th to 13th December.
