In the Heats on Saturday, swimmers aged 13 years and under swim in Session 1 which starts at 9am; those aged 14 years and over swim in Session 2 which will start around 1.45pm. All the finals are on Sunday morning.
Other details about the meet are available on Swimming Victoria’s website.
Surrey Park has entered Boys and Girls 16 Yrs&U 5X50m Freestyle Relay teams. Relays will be swum at the conclusion of the Finals Session on Sunday morning (roughly 12 noon). Surrey Park’s proposed teams can be accessed HERE.
Please advise your coach as soon as possible if you are unable to swim in the relays. Any questions regarding the relays should be directed to your coach.
All swimmers are reminded to wear their State Team polo shirt plus plain navy shorts or track pants. Polo shirts can be purchased through Surrey Park reception if required.
Melbourne's weather can be variable, please take plenty of layers to allow for chilly mornings.
Swimmers should be at the pool at least 90 minutes prior to their first swim. On arrival, they need to touch base with their coach for instructions. Warm up for morning sessions commences at 7.30am. Please read the information on the Swimming Victoria event page regarding road closures on Sunday and allow extra time accordingly.
All swimmers will require accreditation to access pool deck. If swimmers haven't received their pass before the meet, when they arrive at MSAC they should seek out Shannon Clarke (Session 1), Ada or Sam Xu (Session 2) in the stand to collect this.
Note: Competitors will need to have their accreditation with them to access the marshalling room.
Surrey Park is required to fill 2 timekeeping seats for each of the Heats Sessions on Saturday:
The timekeeping roster can be accessed HERE. Please remember to confirm your availability by contacting Shannon Clarke ahead of time.
Timekeeper access to pool deck will only be via the middle stairs at back of grandstand. Note: All timekeepers will be required to produce photo ID on level 2 and be issued with a wristband to gain access to pool deck.
Warm Down, Talking to Coaches
All swimmers must see their coaches prior to their races, then at the completion of each race. They are asked to proceed to the cool down pool and complete a cool down before coming back to speak to the coach.
Surrey Park swimmers and supporters should sit together in the grandstand in the bottom section of the second last walk through.
Coaches will be located on pool deck during this meet, if they are not on the competition pool deck; they will be in the warm up facilities.
Any swimmer wanting to withdraw from a Final on Sunday will need to speak to their coach before a withdrawal form is submitted.
