Training Update 10 September

The Victorian Premier has announced a roadmap for Melbourne to exit from Stage 4 restrictions. At this stage, information around the Aquatics industry lacks detail. However our industry bodies and Swimming Victoria are continuing to work closely with the government to finalise details. We expect to get more clarity about the return to swimming over the next week or two.

Based on the roadmap the earliest outdoor pools are able to open is in the Second Step (after 28th September and based on case numbers). Surrey Park will be guided by Aqualink and the Government restrictions as to the timing and format of returning to pool training. We will continue to provide you with regular updates as the situation develops, in the meantime, the most important things at the moment are that we continue to follow the rules and all do the right thing, so when we get back in the pool – “we stay in the pool”.

Training Changes as of 8 July

In line with the latest Vic government restrictions Aqualink Box Hill and the SP Blackburn centre will be closed during the lockdown period, as such in-pool squad training will temporarily cease after the last session tomorrow (Wednesday 8 July) .

The coaches have contacted swimmers and their families with details about the resumption of the zoom training sessions.

The Club would like to thank everyone for their patience and flexibility during these uncertain times, and we would especially like to thank all those doing there best to follow the government directions and advice, to prevent the situation from getting any worse.

During the lockdown period, the Club will provide regular updates via Team Feed, Facebook and/or email,

Term 2 Squad Training Program Update 29 May

Surrey Park was excited to announce a return to pool training for all squads as of 1st June 2020.

Initially the Club only had limited access to Aqualink Box Hill and a revised timetable for each squad will apply. It is important to note that training will be different (no access to change rooms, groups limited to 10 swimmers outside and 9 swimmers inside, social distancing, sanitising etc).

Please Note: Swimmers MUST only attend the session/s they have been allocated to. Swimmers are unable to change sessions or swap with others.

If you have any training-related queries, please email your squad coach.
