Dryland Resources for Swimmers

Toni Read

During this challenging time of social distancing and isolation we hope all of our swimmers are still keeping fit and healthy.

If you don’t have the dryland programs previously emailed to swimmers, the link can be found here.

The following info was provided with the dryland program:

  • CEED Online Injury Rehab – Please see attached document for further information on our partnership with CEED Online Injury Rehab. This is a dynamic and innovative approach to injury management with special deals for Bayside squad members. For more information please contact Chris Sweeney - [email protected] and visit the website https://ceedinjuryrehab.com

  • Private/Semi Private Pilates Lessons – Our Pilates instructor, Gaynor Carter, is offering private or semi-private (max 2 x participants) Pilates lessons via Zoom. The lessons are 40mins and the offer is open to Bayside swimmers ($30) or parents ($40). If you are interested please contact Gaynor - [email protected]

If you’re getting bored with your current program, or are looking to try something new, the following are some great online resources:

  • Gold Class Swimming is an amazing online resource set up by Leigh Nugent, Gary Barclay and Rohan Taylor. They offer a lot of free webinars and also a number of resources you can pay to access. I’ll be posting a lot of their free webinars on this site over the next few weeks. Visit https://www.goldclassswimming.com/
  • Engine swim are posting their “Stay Active” programs three times a week on Instagram. You can find them at engine_swim
  • Core Advantage are posting a lot of #lockdown exercises and nutrition information on their Instagram core_advantage
  • Swimnastics Australia have a bunch of exercises posted on their Instagram for free OR you can sign up to their online classes.  Swimnastics_au
  • Peter at Vision Personal Training Caulfield is putting a lot of content out on Facebook for sessions to follow on Facebook

Really there are LOADS of options out there if you want to Google and see what suits you. Remember that everyone is in the same boat as you…nobody is swimming at the moment, so the key thing is to stay fit, eat well, and enjoy the extra sleep!
